When you are getting prepared for the holiday season, it can be a little crazy trying to keep your home clean and your kids entertained. Here are some unique ways to get your house ready and clean while keeping your little ones busy and out of your hair!

The Good and Bads of having an Authentic or Synthetic Christmas Tree

From as early as October to as late as February, Christmas trees are a huge part of this time of the year. Here are some crucial things to keep in mind if you are a big lover of the Christmas tree.

  1. Your tree could be a big reason for your home, not being well clean. This goes for more than just the spines on the floor. When having an alive tree in your home, studies have shown you are more susceptible to getting mold spots wherever the tree is being placed. In the average home, there are about 500-700 mold spots per cubic meter. When adding your tree for just two weeks, that can increase to over 5,000 mold spots per cubic meter. If you are one to keep the Christmas tree up longer than a month, It is more suggested to maybe get a fake one for your home. Fun Fact: Some people have Christmas tree syndrome and have no idea! This includes watering eyes, itchy nose, and chest pain like a cold. In this case, it might also be best to get a fake tree for the holidays!
  2. To help turn all the negative out of your Christmas tree, there are ways to help fix these issues! Having a humidifier installed in your home to filter your air can be a huge help for the dryness that could accrue or even if your home is to damp. This also can help control the amount of mold being in your walls over the next month before Christmas. The humidifier can also remove the pollen level and improve your alive or fake trees’ health.

Keeping Your Decorations Clean

Decor in your home or even outside is widespread around this time of year. When decorating your home, there are also a couple of tools to help you with now and the future years!

  1. Your Christmas tree is most likely the most significant decoration you will end up putting inside your home. If you do happen to get an alive tree, make sure to spray it and shake it with some water before bringing it inside. This will help with anything that might still be on the tree.
  2. Now when the Christmas season is over, you will still need to keep in mind how to put away your decorations. When packaging everything up for storage, make sure the boxes you use are entirely sealed off. The moisture that gets trapped in the tables, the fewer years they might be useful for.
  3. Last but not least, make sure if you keep your decorations for more then a couple of weeks to dust! This is very important regarding your ductwork. If your ducts get dirty, it affects how your unit will run. You can call one of our professionals, and they will help you out with cleaning them out.
